How to Make the Music Last
I always find that certain songs can grow old for many reasons. The most common mistake people make when listening to music is overplaying a song. You end up liking the song so much that you constantly listen to it. After a while the effect that the song originally had on you starts to wear off and you grow tired of it. This is precisely why I stopped listening to the 94.7 radio station. It plays the same songs every five minutes and you never hear anything. So if you want to like a song for a while, rather then listening to it every second, give it a rest before it sounds like a broken record. Also what I find is always good is when you go back to old songs that you used to listen to. The world of music is everchanging, and always evolving. Usually I find that if I go back to an old song that I haven't heard in a while, it's like listening to it for the first time all over again. What you could also do instead of listening to the same songs over again, is listen to other songs by the same artist. Just because they don't put the songs on the radio doesn't mean that they're not good; besides they don't even put good music on the radio any more anyways so you're better off just not listening to it at all(although i do love 99.9 the buzz and 97.7). I also suggest finding a lot of bands in the same genre because you might end up liking them. There are also a lot of underground bands that you could listen to that have that fresh new sound. So what it comes down to is listen to tons of different bands, kinds of music, and different songs, and don't overplay songs and you can make the music last.
